Senior Pastor

Leon Meyer-Leon grew up in Plainview Texas, where at 17 years old he met his wife, Lendell and the two have been a ministry team for over 50 years. They have three children, eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild!

Leon worked as a youth, music and education pastor in Memphis and Anson, Texas, El Cajon, California and Wenatchee WA. For the next twenty years, Leon and Lendell served in music evangelism, traveling to churches all over the Northwest. 

In 1997 Leon was called to Calvary Baptist Church in Burlington where he has served faithfully as senior pastor for nearly fourteen years.

Associate Pastor

Walt Berrey-Walt grew up in the Skagit Valley and graduated from Sedro-Wooley High school in 1981. That same year he joined the Navy and worked as a submarine cook from 1981-2001. 

Beginning in 1999, Walt joined Calvary Baptist Church with his wife Jana, and the two took on responsibilities as Youth Directors at the church. 

Now Walt is Associate Pastor in charge of Young Adult Ministries and Education. He is known for his scruffy beard, spicy chili and devotion to the Word of God.

Youth Director

Cheri Torrence- Cheri grew up in Cashmere, WA and graduated from Whitworth University with degrees in Spanish and Theology. After a year's internship in Banchory, Scotland, Cheri came on board at Calvary Baptist as Youth Director and was promptly told to design a new church website. This she has done faithfully.
